At the White House a weekly Bible study group is attended by about a dozen members of President Trump’s Cabinet, report both CBN News and — more extensively — Britain’s BBC.

The 60- to 90-minute meetings are held by Ralph Drollinger of Capitol Ministries, the BBC reports. “It’s the best Bible study that I’ve ever taught in my life,” he told CBN. “They are so teachable; they’re so noble; they’re so learned.” Drollinger believes it’s the first Cabinet-level Bible study group for over a century.

Although the President is not a member of the group, he often reads the eight-page print-outs, Drollinger told the BBC . “He writes me back notes on my bible studies. He’s got this leaky Sharpie felt-tip pen that he writes all capital letters with. ‘Way to go Ralph, really like this study, keep it up.’ Stuff like that.”

Drollinger notes that the Bible teaches separation of church and state. “We have to differentiate,” he says. “I believe in institutional separation — but not influential separation!”
