Procedures for Teacher Recertification
In the year before their Professional Certificate expires, teachers are responsible for following the appropriate procedures from the Florida Department of Education to apply for their new certificate. This may be done online at: http://www.fldoe.org/edcert/apply.asp.
Teachers at CSF Schools should be using the PLC (formerly MIP) program to track their inservice points. If using inservice points for re-certification, teachers should have their school administrator submit the CSF Verification of Inservice Points Report to the CSF Director of Teacher Certification for credit for these points.
Teachers will receive an email from the FDOE when their new certificate is available to be printed out. Once teachers have received the new certificates from the FDOE, they should provide a copy to their school.
Teachers are also responsible for updating the certification period information on their PLC page to begin tracking inservice points toward their next certificate. This can be done by clicking on Edit Profile in the blue box.
