Dunnellon Christian Academy

Dunnellon Christian Academy is a private, non-profit Christian school founded in 1983 as a ministry of First Baptist Church of Dunnellon. DCA is a rural school located in western Marion county surrounded by working farm communities and local rivers. There are 173 students—infants through eighth grade. DCA desires every student to develop their spirit-lead ability to think in a Christ-like manner and to demonstrate a lifestyle that is saturated with a biblical worldview. DCA’s goal is to encourage the students to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. The curriculum provides a Christian education founded on the principles of Scripture. These principles are integrated in each subject throughout every class and by all instructors. DCA has a weekly Chapel service for all students and structured Bible courses in all grade levels. In addition to core academic classes and daily physical education for all grades, DCA incorporates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematic) and Fine Arts as important tools in our educational plan. Each classroom is equipped with up-to-date educational technology such as J-Touch Interactive boards; and students beginning in the 3rd grade are issued personal tablets for use in all classes. Biblically integrating technology into lessons allows our students to learn to use these tools responsibly. Student Government and First Priority provide leadership training to our students that is based on the biblical concepts of stewardship and servant leadership and offer a wide range of opportunities for students to minister on campus or in the community. DCA offers an expanding sports program with soccer, flag football, volleyball, basketball and track for students in 4th through 8th grades. There are sports clubs for the younger grades. All programs, including fine arts and sports, are designed for students to have the opportunity to spread God’s Word. DCA has a positive working relationship with First Baptist Church Dunnellon. The Pastor, church staff and church body support the purpose, mission and vision of the Academy. Our overall goal is to never lose sight of our purpose for having our doors open; to teach every student about the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Students are encouraged not to just conform but to transform.

Our curriculum focuses on age-appropriate goals and methods which best enhance your child’s physical, spiritual, emotional and intellectual growth. Our after-school program provides your child with activities to choose from such as ballet, piano, football, soccer, and languages.

We distinguish ourselves in creating a unique learning environment that caters to the multicultural families of our community here in South Florida. Our school is an extension of the students’ home, a place where students are provided a safe learning environment. It is important to us that the children cherish their school, that school be a familiar place, a home away from home, and that we be part of creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Our highly certified staff views education as a partnership between parents and teachers. We believe it is essential to develop a good rapport with each child and parent based on open communication and mutual respect. We believe this is the foundation of a successful school experience.

Impact Christian Academy

Doing school differently!

Doing School Differently!

We are delighted that you are interested in Impact Christian Academy where we do school “differently”. While some may perceive that a private Christian school is a proverbial bubble isolating students from the “real world,” ICA takes seriously the biblical charge to “take captive every thought, to make it obedient to Christ,” and we share the philosophy with C.S. Lewis, that it is better to “irrigate the deserts” by training students to be discerning and shrewd in their dealings with the world. It is the same training method that Jesus used with His own disciples.

Jesus sent out His twelve into the world with this statement:

“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore, be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.”
—Matthew 10:16

The Christian community has focused on the second part of that charge — teaching our students to be as innocent as doves — to avoid being stained by the world. In the past, the first part of this charge has been overlooked, much to the detriment of students. Study after study confirms that Christian students are walking away from their faith as they leave the comforts and confines of home, and enter into the “brave new world” on the college campus.

At least 75 percent (some say as high as 90 percent) of students are ill-equipped for the challenges to their faith they will encounter from friends, professors and the world at-large.

Like the famous Dylan Thomas poem, we prepare students not to go gently into that good night — and to do that we have developed a myriad of opportunities that produce conflict, stimulate critical thinking, and equip students and their families to demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God (2 Cor. 10:5). As Isaac Ambrose once wrote, “… you have arduous work allotted to you, and you have neither time nor talent to throw away.”

At ICA, we take this charge seriously to prepare and equip our students for the challenges and opportunities that await them. This intentional effort is what makes Impact Christian Academy “DISTINCTIVE”.

Throughout our website you will find information as to what really makes ICA “distinctive.” From our mission statement to ministry opportunities, we hope that you will spend some time and see that ICA is serious about being more than just a haven from a world system that stands in opposition to biblical truth — we are also a training facility, a springboard, and a resource to help raise up a new generation of godly young men and women, while strengthening families on their journey. In the classic C.S. Lewis tale, “The Last Battle,” Lord Digory responds to Lucy’s impression that everything seemed so “different” than before. His response was, “And of course it is different; as different as a real thing is from a shadow or as waking life is from a dream.”

The differences at ICA are intentional and profound — and we hope you find that they are exactly what you are looking for in an educational environment to help you train up your children in the way they should go!

In 1959, the founders of Lake Worth Christian believed it was important to teach children that every area of life belongs to the Lord. We are thankful for a rich history of people who take ownership in Lake Worth Christian School.

The strong academic programs at Lake Worth Christian School—in conjunction with state championship athletic programs and award-winning fine arts—seek to fulfill the mission of equipping students with knowledge and wisdom for a life of service in God’s kingdom.

Lake Worth Christian School strives to “Grow Christian Leaders” by integrating faith into all aspects of the educational experience from Pre-K to grade 12. Upon graduation each year, our secondary school students have had the opportunity to continue their studies at a university or college of their choice. Sunlight Christian Academy

Sunlight Christian Academy shines the light of God’s Word into learning for children who bear his image and have a place in his care.

Sunlight Christian Academy strives to provide a loving and safe environment in which children can explore God and His world from a distinctively Christian point of view.

Sunlight provides an excellent and loving faculty that is well educated and properly credentialed. Students will be taught from a distinctively Christian perspective through individualized instruction and according to measurable learning outcomes.

Experiences are provided that meet each child’s needs and stimulate learning in all developmental areas including physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual.

Each child is viewed as a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of growth and development. Different levels of ability, development, and learning styles are expected, accepted, and used to design appropriate activities.

Interactions and activities are designed to develop children’s positive feelings toward learning.

Christian World-and-Life View

Every school is based upon a specifice system of beliefs, whether it is governed and guided by the government, a private board, or a church. Sunlight Christian Academy is no exception. Our basis is a distinctively Christian understanding of God and His world, which gives shape to the purpose of our school.

A Comprehensive Learning Plan

Our curriculum has been designed with our unique purpose as a Christian school in mind. It is a comprehensive learning plan with clearly stated learning outcomes and objectives in every academic area (Mathematics, Language Arts, Bible, Fine Arts, Technology, etc.). These clearly stated objectives equip our faculty to provide outstanding instruction and enable us to accurately measure student achievement throughout the school year.

Driven by Learning Outcomes and Objectives

It is difficult to hit a target that is poorly defined. Because many schools have not developed clearly stated learning outcomes and objectives, they resort to instruction that amounts to marching through a textbook. When this happens, the educational result can only be as good as the textbook is good. At Sunlight Christian Academy, we care much more about whether our students have mastered the learning objectives and goals than whether we have been able to finish any particular textbook. Our teachers appeal creatively to many different learning styles in their instruction.

Individualized Instruction

Every child at Sunlight Christian Academy is a unique and important bearer of God’s image. For this reason, we refuse to allow even one to simply blend into the crowd. That is why we maintain an individual academic profile for every child that charts his/her learning in each area of our curriculum. Our flexible weekly schedule also reflects our commitment to individualized instruction.

Accountability through Assessment

Accountability is the buzzword in education today. We embrace this value in everything we do. The education of your child is important, and we want to make sure they are striving to meet our learning outcomes and objectives. With our system of assessment you will know for certain how well your child is meeting the learning objectives.

Excellent Faculty

Our classroom teachers are of an excellent caliber. They are well-trained educational professionals that are properly credentialed.

TBCA serves a diverse infant through 12th grade student population. With more than 250 students, TBCA offers various educational programs for our students, from our accelerated program that enables students who need more challenges to “bump up” to a higher grade to our success program that helps those who already have challenges in one or more areas. We have a 100% graduation rate for our Upper School Senior class. We offer a wide-ranging co-curricular program that includes music, chorus, library, art, Spanish starting in pre-school, drama, cooking, sewing, FHSAA athletics, chess club, honor societies, service projects, computers and much more.

As an I-20 school we are honored to serve international students from across the world who are looking for a Christian education in the USA. We also accept Step Up For Students and McKay Scholarships and provide numerous financial aid options.

Tampa Bay Christian Academy started as Spencer Memorial Baptist School which founded in 1957 by a group of Spencer Memorial Baptist Church members who were interested in providing a Christian education for their children. The names of the church and school were changed in March 1985 to Tampa Baptist Church and Academy. The high school was started in the fall of 1986 with a 10th grade, adding a class each year until the first official senior class of thirteen students was established in the 1988-1989 school year. On June 1, 2007, the name of the school was changed to Tampa Bay Christian Academy to better communicate its mission and the diversity of its students. In May 2013, Tampa Bay Christian Academy of Florida, Inc. was incorporated with the state of Florida as an independent organization.

Mission Statement: Tampa Bay Christian Academy of Florida is educating for eternity by seeking to nurture the spirit, mind, and body of the international and culturally diverse Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade student population through a Christ centered, developmentally appropriate and safe educational environment. Our goal is to partner with families and churches to enable students to develop and apply a biblical worldview to become servant leaders in a changing world. Vision Statement Tampa Bay Christian Academy will be regionally, nationally and internationally recognized as a pace setter for academic and moral excellence and innovative educational practices, developing well-rounded Christian leaders of godly conviction who influence their world for Jesus Christ through evangelism and discipleship. We would love to meet your family and see how TBCA can meet your educational needs. We would be happy to schedule a tour or a meeting with our Admissions Coordinator. Accredited Member School

Westminster Christian School

Westminster Christian School opened its doors in 1961 with a noble goal in mind: to provide an excellent Christian education to the children of Christian families. Thanks to the vision and dedication of Mr. Jules Vroon, and the leadership of many faithful men and women over the years, Westminster Christian School has become the standard for Christian education in South Florida. Westminster Christian School is South Florida’s premiere college-preparatory, Christian school offering excellent academics, and outstanding fine arts and athletics programs to more than 1,000 students from preschool through 12th grade.

Our Mission

Empowering learners, preparing hearts, and inspiring lives to faithfully serve as ambassadors for Jesus Christ.
