<p>Position Parameters:</p>

<p>General<br />
•	Assist and monitor any school improvement plans pertaining to their department.<br />
•	Attend Open Houses, Parent Night, and Graduation.<br />
•	Proctor mid-term and final exams as requested by admin.<br />
•	Comply with the discipline procedures as outlined in handbook.  <br />
•	Comply with the procedures as outlined in the employee handbook; teacher dress, request for time off, no social media interaction with students, sexual ethics, etc.<br />
•	Enter daily attendance for every period.<br />
•	Establish office hours for the department and communicate with students/families.<br />
•	Monitor departmental compliance with all <span class="caps">NILD</span> and academic accommodation policies as outlined by Guidance and <span class="caps">NILD</span> therapist, to include tracking of extra time for students eligible.  <br />
•	Participate in J-Term as a lead or support to any of our experimental learning experiences/trips.</p>

<p>Instructional Leadership<br />
•	Enter homework on a weekly basis, by Friday or no later than Monday of each week.<br />
•	Enter grades on a weekly basis to Ren Web and complete all grades prior to end of each quarter. <br />
•	Establish grading distribution/weights as directed by department head and monitor on a weekly basis.<br />
•	Participate and enter upcoming test and long-term projects into the US test/project calendar.<br />
•	Uphold and comply with department philosophy for homework, missing/make-up work, rigor, and project management.  <br />
•	Create a course syllabus prior to the start of the school year and seek approval of department head.  All information on syllabus should align with all handbook policies.<br />
•	Send a communication to parents within the first weeks of school.  Maintain open communications with parents throughout the year; course highlights, upcoming projects, trip, student opportunities, teacher office hours, etc.<br />
•	Communicate with parents and student in regards to failing grades and student performance immediately, and document all communications. <br />
•	Provide Biblical integration in their prospective subjects.  </p>

<p>Curricular Leadership<br />
•	Create/Update curricular maps for each course through Rubicon Atlas.  <br />
•	Create/Update lesson plans on a weekly basis.  All lesson plans are to be posted in Rubicon Atlas within each corresponding curricular map. Lesson plans will be monitored by department heads.<br />
•	Create exams and exam reviews and submit to department head prior to established deadlines.<br />
•	Assist the department head through the curricular adaptation process of new curriculum.<br />
•	Assist the department head with the coordination of curricular resources for their department; preview new curriculum, track and order curricular resources throughout the year, and oversee all student access to curriculum.<br />
•	Inventory any physical curricular resources and distribute accordingly.</p>

<p>Professional Development<br />
•	Attend weekly PD offerings provided by <span class="caps">CCS</span>.<br />
•	Keep abreast of current educational practices and attend professional conferences/workshops as made available by department head and Principals.<br />

•	Monitor and keep abreast of their teacher certification status and progress.<br />

concert attire for band and choral students. Schedule fitting day, create flyers and/or fit<br />
students with used concert attire.<br />

<p>Scope of Instruction and Preparation:<br />
<span class="caps">STEM</span> Instructors are assigned teaching responsibilities in Middle School. Example courses include, but are not limited to:<br />
Middle School <span class="caps">STEM</span> – introducing 7th-8th grade students to the design cycle, project-based learning, and teaching makerspace techniques<br />

<p>Position Parameters: <br />
<span class="caps">STEM</span> Instructors receive curriculum and assistance from the HS <span class="caps">STEM</span> Director. They are expected to adapt curriculum, plan to learning objectives, assess using a variety of formats, enter grades promptly, communicate with parents proactively, and submit lessons through Canvas on a weekly basis.</p>

<p>Scope of Instruction and Preparation:<br />
<span class="caps">STEM</span> Instructors are assigned teaching responsibilities in Middle School. Example courses include, but are not limited to:<br />
Middle School <span class="caps">STEM</span> – introducing 7th-8th grade students to the design cycle, project-based learning, and teaching makerspace techniques<br />
Middle School Robotics – introducing 7th-8th grade students to Vex or Lego Mindstorm robotics through builds, coding, and project-based learning.<br />
Field trips or J-Term (week in January before school reopens) instruction</p>

Our teachers are building Christian Community within and beyond the school, are active in a church community and serve as Christian role models to students, parents, and staff.  Teachers are expected to keep abreast of current trends and assist their respective departments with long-term goal planning for the program, developing both short- and long-term instructional objectives.  Teachers must have strong Instructional and Classroom Management skills, including but not limited to: use of various teaching strategies and resources to actively engage students in learning; adjusting curriculum as appropriate; posting lesson plans on RenWeb; evaluating handouts and testing materials against student performance; evaluating students and providing opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery; quickly grading and returning student work; enforcing school discipline policies in a consistent and loving manner; promptly notifying parents and administration of any behavioral or academic problems and organizing classroom and materials for efficient learning.  <span class="caps">OCS</span> teachers are expected to make meaningful connections between faith and learning in the classroom. Employees are responsible for continuing education and completing certification requirements.  </p>

<p>• Teach French and additional electives (while developing a French Program that would involve self contained French courses) at the middle and high school levels.</p>

<p>• Excited about continual growth and development on an organizational level as well as individual level.</p>

<p>• Assess student performance regularly through quizzes and tests.</p>

<p>• Cooperate with Educational Services Department to meet the needs of students with learning disabilities.</p>

<p>• Provide opportunities outside the regular class time to students who need additional assistance.</p>

<p>• Grade and return student work quickly. Update RenWeb weekly with current grades.</p>

<p>• Update RenWeb weekly with lesson plans and homework.</p>

<p>• Attend and participate in faculty devotions, faculty meetings, parent conferences, evening programs, overnight trips, conventions and other assigned meetings or duties.  </p>

<p>• Communicate professionally and regularly with parents (guardians) about student progress/needs.</p>

<p>• Integrate Christian faith with classroom instruction.</p>

<p>• Research and implement new technologies in the classroom, preparing students for 21st century learning.</p>

<p>Supplemental Function:</p>

<p>• Participate as a club sponsor, athletic coach, class sponsor and chaperone for events/trips.</p>

<p>• Participate in assigned school duties weekly.</p>

<p>• Attend weekly staff meetings.</p>

<p>Position Parameters:<br />
•	Prepare instructional materials, manipulatives, and supplies to support instruction.<br />
•	Provide review for individual student-athletes or small groups as directed by the Academic Coach.<br />
•	Assist with hands-on activities.<br />
•	Assist in the supervision of student-athletes during instruction.<br />
•	Assist in the supervision of student-athletes in the lunchroom, on breaks, during transitions, on field trips, and other activities as needed.<br />
•	Perform clerical responsibilities as assigned by the Academic Coach (attendance, record keeping, charting progress, etc.).<br />
•	Communicate with the Academic Coach regarding all aspects of the student-athlete’s progress and behavior.<br />
•	Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.<br />
•	Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences.<br />
•	Maintain a professional self-image and project the mission and values of Nest Hockey Academy.<br />
•	Adhere to all Nest Hockey Academy policies and procedures.</p>
