Approving Administrators/School Heads:
Please note the “Edit Your School” click at the top of your lefthand menu. This will take you to a screen where you can type in an introduction to your school. Once input and submitted, that introduction can be viewed by visitors looking into Florida Member Schools on the CSF website. It will also appear under Schools on the MIP website.
New Student Safety Training for Faculty
11 February 2012, 1:46 pm by Susan Taylor 0 comments
Use this Component for your Annual Faculty Training
Adminstrators and Inservice Coordinators:
The new component for training of faculty regarding student safety is component #6-511-001 Student Safety Training for Staff. Some of you have attempted to use it and were concerned about the absence of fields for entering contact and non -contact hours. These fields disappear when a per participant component is being used, and our programmer has removed any warnings requiring matching of hours. Please continue with your submissions without any need for those fields. Points will be applied to staff records upon completion of the activity. When adding participants, you will be asked to select a number of inservice hours to each participant. Please contact me if you have any problems.
New Version Up and Running

Although there may still be a little troubleshooting to be done, our CSF MIP website is now running on the new version of ExpressionEngine.
New domain: http://www.csfla.org
Although there may still be a little troubleshooting to be done, our CSF MIP website is now running on the new version of ExpressionEngine. You will notice a few changes; in addition to the wonderfully increased speed, the main CSF website and the MIP website are interactive and using the same system. You will now access the sites with a new domain name: http://www.csfla.org.
Please note that new registrations and logging in are both handled in a blue box at the top right of the screen. Your usernames and passwords have not changed, but homepages for administrators and inservice coordinators have been restored to previous information fields. Teacher lists have been commented back in, but you may have to scroll down further to find them.
Those with approving administrator status now have the ability to edit information for their schools with a new edit link found at the top of the lefthand menu. An introduction to your school and a listing of registered support staff can now be placed on the schools’ listing found in the main and MIP sites. Simply fill in an introduction to your school and develop your support listing by dragging the registered personnel from the left list to the right field. From this point on, all school information will be updated by approving administrators/school heads through this editing channel.
New Components
Please review the components listing to see new components to be used for accreditation processes and faculty training for student safety (such as CPR, Crisis Management, child Abuse, OSHA, etc.). This student safety component has flexible points and a variety of training selections. You can recognize the new components as their numbering is different, a series of three numerical sets.
Problems
Please alert me by email whenever you encounter problems so that we can work out any breaks that we have not yet seen.
MIP Online Progress

The speed is remarkably increased, and your home screens improved. Next up: converting our main CSF website over to the same system.
Thank you all for being patient as our programmer moves forward with updating our online MIP to the new ExpressionEngine version. I have done preliminary review and know that you will be very pleased with the new process. The speed is remarkably increased, and your home screens will give you great content and ability to manage your faculty’s inservice needs and record-keeping.
As we move into the next stage of converting our main CSF website over to the same ExpressionEngine system, you will see some wonderfully interactive screens giving us efficient communication and new means of presenting your schools easily and accurately. I think you will see that CSF itself will be represented very professionally.
New MIP Components Added

The four new components can be found online in the component list.
Four new components have been added to our CSF Master Inservice Plan. Two components replace previous components dealing with re-accreditation/self study formulation and peer review visits to evaluate self studies. The new components can be found online in the component list. They are #4-512-001 School Effectiveness and School Improvement Process: Accreditation Self-Study (20-60 points) and #4-512-003 Peer Team Visit and Report: Accreditation: CSF, Collaborative, or Other (30 points). The old components have been closed because our accreditation and these new components now reflect a school improvement model.
In addition, another component #4-512-002 Formulation of School Improvement Plan: SESIP (20 points) has been added as you consider your focus areas and write your plan during the five-year cycle. Lastly, I have created a flexible component for training of your faculty that occurs on an annual basis and meets the needs of student safety. You may choose to train faculty in any or all elements included in the component, and you will award the 6-30 points on a per participant basis. This is #6-511-001 and will most probably replace your use of former components in CPR training and Child Abuse training. Each of these components was presented at our last CSF Administrators’ Meeting, and some of you have hard copies of the parameters describing them. There are WORD documents online describing each new component just as previously.
Further component developments are planned for administrative and early childhood training sessions that occur at our CSF Administrators’ Meetings. Watch for notice of particular training coming during our next meetings in January and April.

New Components

I am submitting new components for accreditation processes. But because I need to run this through the DOE and their time schedule, I cannot provide those components to you until later.
I am submitting new components for accreditation processes and for the usual inservice activities that occur at the beginning of the school year (OSHA training, Child abuse training, Crisis Management, CPR refresher, etc.).
Because I need to run this through the DOE and their time schedule, I cannot provide those components to you until later. During this time, you have two options: submit such activities under the present components; hold the inservice and submit an application after-the-fact.
I am requesting new components that have flexible points and flexible content, but I still must wait on the DOE’s response and cannot guarantee the final result. I will work with you on later submissions and with making needed changes.
If you do opt to have inservice and submit later, please remember to document and get individual teacher evaluations at the time of the inservice. The worst-case scenario is that you will need to use our catch-all component, Professional Growth and Development.
MIP Under Construction - Inservice Applications for New School Year

With the start of a new school year, it’s time to think of making inservice applications through CSF’s Master Inservice Program. You will find however that your home screen does not have all its former content.
With the start of a new school year, it’s time to think of making inservice applications through CSF’s Master Inservice Program.
You will find however that your home screen does not have all its former content. The website is under construction as we move to a new version that will add speed and efficiency. Our programmer will be completing the work in September, so until then you will need to familiarize yourself with the lefthand menu. By using that menu, you are able to access all you need to make applications and keep up with your teachers’ records. Your individual teacher list is not presently on your homescreen but use that lefthand menu teachers for the present.
Should you have any questions, please email me for assistance.
CT116 Verification of Inservice Points
8 July 2011, 11:05 am by Susan Taylor 0 comments
The CT116 Form is used by School Heads to verify CSF-approved inservice points being used for re-certification of their individual school faculty. School Heads should fill in Christian Schools of Florida for district/school name, signature at the bottom, and send the completed form to the Florida Department of Education.
Teacher Profile Changes

Administrators: it’s important that you remind your faculty to keep their individual online profiles up-to-date.
Administrators: It is important that you remind your faculty to keep their individual online profiles up-to-date. Information, such as certificate expiration dates, are not created dynamically when a teacher is re-certified by the Florida Department of Education. Profiles must be manually updated by accessing the edit profile found in the lefthand menu of homepages. Unless a staff member who has administrative or inservice coordinator access, has been designated to manage this data, individual teachers are responsible to keep personal information accurate.
